Why doesn't beer list its ingredients on their bottles and cans?
Simply put, beer is fermented, hop flavored, malt sugared, liquid. The basic ingredients of beer are water, malt, hops, and yeast. The major variation in beer is the type of yeast used to ferment the product.
To answer your specific question about listing the ingredients: listing all the ingredients in a bottle of beer would be virtually impossible.
A lot of them are not identifiable because they cross over with other ones. Beer makers put malts, hops together with yeast. It's transformed, up to a thousand different flavor compounds. So ideally if you get a list of ingredients you should have to go through and list all of those. Beer makers would have no have room on the label or the cases.

they are regulated by different government agencies with different rules. Alcohol doesn't mention calories or % of nutrients either. Those are all required for food and alcohol is not considered food.

guys, guys. stop it. beer has about 5% alcohol. ingredients are easy: barley, hop, malt and water.
and to say: beer is bad bad(?). don't forget, in the past whole tribes survived with beer, because the water was contaminated.
i got kids ranging from 7 to 13. if I've given the choice, either they drink beer or coca cola, i would give them beer for sure, coke and similar products should have a skull on their labels.

Many craft beers do, but aren't required to. Alcoholic beverages aren't regulated the same as food. Don't know why sodas are considered food. Beer is by far more nutritious than soda.
